Google Review Link + QR Code Generator

Turn your Place ID or review link into a "leave us a review" QR code, then print it as a table tent, a counter sign or a sheet of small cards. The QR code is made on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Paste your Place ID or review link

I don't have either. How do I find my review link?

Option A: from your Business Profile (easiest if you manage it)

  1. Sign in to the Google account that manages your Business Profile.
  2. Search for your business name on Google.
  3. Look for Ask for reviews (or Get more reviews) and copy the short link it shows. It looks like g.page/r/.../review.

Option B: from your Place ID (works without managing the profile)

  1. Open Google's Place ID Finder.
  2. Type your business name and city, and pick your business.
  3. Copy the Place ID shown in the box on the map. It usually starts with ChIJ. Paste it above.

Both routes should open the same review box. Always use the Test the link button on a phone before you print. Pages like Google's can change, so follow the on-screen wording if it differs.

Before you print: a quick checklist

  • Test the printed code, not just the screen. Scan it with two different phones in normal room light.
  • Print one on plain paper first. Check it is sharp and the white border around the code is intact.
  • Keep it a decent size. A common rule of thumb is at least about 1 inch (2.5 cm) square. Bigger is easier to scan. The layouts here are much larger than that.
  • Don't put it over a busy photo, and don't stretch or recolor it to a pale shade.
Play by Google's review rules. Google's policy does not allow offering discounts, gifts or other incentives for reviews, discouraging negative reviews, or only asking happy customers. Merchants also should not pressure customers to review while on the premises or ask for specific content. A neutral sign that invites any customer to share their experience is the safe approach. Read the current policy, since it can change.

Questions

Is this really free? Is anything uploaded?

It is free. Everything runs in your browser, so your Place ID, link and QR code are never uploaded or saved.

What is a Place ID?

A Place ID is a text identifier Google uses for a place on its map. You can look yours up in Google's Place ID Finder. It usually starts with ChIJ.

Which link does the QR code open?

If you paste a Place ID, it opens https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid= followed by your ID. If you paste a review link, it uses that link exactly as given.

Will the QR code expire or stop working?

The code only holds your link, and there is no service in between. It keeps working as long as Google keeps that link working, so it is worth re-testing it from time to time.

Can I offer a discount for a review?

No. Google's policy does not allow incentives in exchange for reviews. See the note above and Google's policy page.

Are you affiliated with Google?

No. This is an independent tool. Google, Google Maps and Google Business Profile are trademarks of Google LLC. QR Code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
